The North Orange County United Teachers (NOCUT) was founded in 1975, by an agreement between the teachers of North Orange County, CTA, and the NEA. Today, NOCUT serves over 2000 certificated teachers in the Brea Olinda Unified School District, Buena Park School District, Fullerton Joint Union High School District, Fullerton Elementary School District, and the La Habra City School District.
NOCUT exists to serve its constituent chapters and members. An executive board made up of representatives of each of the participating associations governs the organization.
- La Habra Education Association (LHEA)
During the school year, the Executive Board meets monthly in open sessions overseeing the UniServ budget, directing the work of the UniServ staff, and facilitating member service programs and trainings. The current NOCUT president is Karla Turner of the Fullerton Elementary Teachers Association.
As part of the UniServ agreement, CTA/NEA also assigns a full time professional staff member to serve as the Executive Director of the UniServ. The Executive Director of NOCUT is Jesse Tangk.
The NOCUT facilities include ample office space for each Association President and the Executive Director. As well as workspace for the office secretaries who assist our local chapters with day-to-day business. Our facilities also consist of a small conference room, large conference room for trainings and rep council meetings, and a Boardroom for Local Executive Councils and the NOCUT Board of Directors.
